A Human Soul on Fire

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire…” — Ferdinand Foch

“Napoleon Hill in his book, ‘Think and Grow Rich’ said the key to success was to have a Burning Desire, for he concluded nothing short of a Burning Desire would bring your dreams to fulfillment or make them a reality. A Burning Desire is what you had when you saw the one you eventually married. A Burning Desire is what you had when you had to have that car and wound up purchasing it. A Burning Desire is what you had when you had to have, (just add what you desire).

Hopefully, you are among the few already in possession of the knowledge that a Burning Desire to accomplish or obtain what you want has more often than not caused it to come to pass? If on the other hand, you are part of the majority who unfortunately are not in possession of this knowledge and thus continue to stumble in all areas of your life, I suggest you pay close attention to what is written below.

Many years ago, while listening to a minister by the name of Kenneth Copeland, he explained what a Burning Desire was with a little different twist. He said the quickest way to come to an understand of how strong one’s Burning Desire would need to be was to have your head held under water for a while, then brought up, then quickly shoved back under just before you caught your breath; then brought back up again, then shoved back under water; again, and again, and again, until you were ready to pass out. Then he said, “When you want something as much as you wanted that next breath, you will have the necessary Burning Desire to bring what you want into reality.”

In Think and Grow Rich, the chapter called The Power of Sex Transmutation; Napoleon Hill said most men do not attain success prior to the age of forty six. The reason for this is they are not able to harness the power of passion and focus it on the right things or in the right direction. This is due to the fact they are not thinking with the brain in their skull or the heart of reason, but with the passion of lust. It is only when one learns to take the power and passion of lust and focus it toward a worthy goal that it will be accomplished.

Give some real thought to what you just read. What man has not turned his world and the world around him upside down for the woman of his passion? It is the same as focusing this energy toward that of lasting value to all others, rather than toward ones sexual or bodily desires. Jesus said if a man lusts after a woman in his heart he has committed adultery with her already. What is being said is a strong Burning Desire (a lust if you please) will cause things to line up and come to pass if you hold this Burning Desire in your heart and allow it to germinate. It will bring forth results however; the results will have an undesirable ending. So, learn to create a Burning Desire (or lust) for the right things instead of the wrong ones. Learn to focus your desires on that which has a better long lasting outcome for all not just for your own carnal desires and immediate gratification.

A Burning Desire can be obtained for anything, and I do mean anything. Take for example, a child whose parent forced them to learn how to play a musical instrument. It is not uncommon for the child to grow to hate that instrument. On the other hand, there are those who rerouted what could have been negative energy, and turned it into a positive by developing a passion for the instrument. Now playing with passion, the instrument becomes an extension of their very being through which they are able to share with others the music that is in their hearts. The best part of this is it can be done with anything you want even your current job. What a gift.

Perhaps in the past, you had a Burning Desire to do or accomplish something, but for whatever reason it didn’t come to pass. You have since decided it is not worth the effort. In other words you are going to quit trying to set and reach goals and give others control of your life. Before you do however, consider this: Jesus spoke to his disciples and many around Him about the Sower and the Seed. He said the seed was the word sown in one’s heart. The seed is what generates an idea or brings a concept into one’s heart. If the spoken seed is the idea in your heart then the Burning Desire is that which will see to it the seed germinates and grows. Not every seed planted will grow to maturity. There are always a few seeds that never germinate however, the majority do; but because of harsh weather, lack of water, being eaten or choked out by other germinating seeds, they do not make it.

In the same manner not every thought or desire will come to pass, but you cannot stop just because one of your ideas or passions failed. Take the baseball player for instance; he doesn’t quit because he was thrown out at first base. He doesn’t quit because he doesn’t have a perfect batting average. There is no baseball player with a batting average of one thousand. He will hit singles, doubles, triples and home runs; he will hit a few infield fly balls, which is often an automatic out; he will hit other fly balls, which are more often than not caught for an out; and he will ground out; but he doesn’t quit playing baseball. He keeps trying every time he gets up to bat to either hit that home run or get on base. In the same manner you need to keep planting seeds for which you have a Burning Desire to bring them to fruition. Like the baseball player, you must continue to plant those seeds in order to develop that burning desire. This is a vital part of growth as well as a vital part of life.

Best of LUCK as you
