Anxiety – How Do YOU Deal with it

“Anxiety is the currency of the insecure…” — Nido R. Qubein

Just so we are all on the same page, Webster’s defines anxiety as: a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

Psalms 42:5 says: Why are you cast down oh my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God for I will yet praise Him who is my hope in the Lord and wait expectantly for Him.

Proverbs 12:25 says: An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.

Matthew 6:25-33 says: Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than your clothes. Consider the birds for they sow not nor do they reap; they have no store room or barn; yet God feeds them. And, how much more are you than the birds. Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Philippians 4:6-7 says: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present you requests and concerns to God. And the God of peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

So, it is obvious the Bible tells us anxiety is not good for us. Webster’s Dictionary tells us the symptoms of anxiety and we all know those symptoms are not good. For when we are full of anxiety for any length of time it winds up adversely affecting our health and our countenance. We are drained of our natural energies and as a matter of fact, the energy, which could and should be used for getting us ahead and helping us become more, is used or burned up by this insidious anxiety.

Mr. Qubein says it is the currency of the insecure. In other words, it is what is used by the insecure to purchase that which their fears and worries can and will bring forth. All of us have been insecure and full of anxiety so this isn’t me speaking about others. It is what happens when any one of us gives in, to the anxieties that life can and does, bring to our front door. The deal is, anxiety will often knock on our door, but we don’t have to answer it. We simply stand on what we have done by planting our own seeds and knowing we will receive the harvest deserved for the seeds planted. That will get and keep us in the right frame of mind. We must come to know we have inside of us all we need and there is absolutely no reason to be insecure. We have to believe all will work to our good REGARDLESS of how it may appear. If we will simply look within, we will find what we need to get over, around and or through whatever we may encounter.

Instead of allowing our energies to be spent and burnt up without bringing forth a useable harvest, we must laser focus our energy on becoming what it takes to attract what we want – when we do, our energy will bring to us that which we desire. So, protest against anxiety. Rather than taking on fears of what hasn’t happened, stand strong in believing all will work to your good for that is what you expect.

Best of LUCK as you
