“If you take the risk out of life, you take the opportunity our of life…” — Nido R. Qubein
Rick Cox: “In every reward there is always a risk. In every risk there is always a reward. To realize a greater reward we must learn to accept and take on greater risk.”
Mark Twain: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Anais Nin: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Michael Jordan: “I can accept failure. Everybody fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. Fear is an illusion.”
Wayne Gretzky: “You will always miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Do not be too timid and squeamish about our actions. All of life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better you will be.”
Anonymous: “Take risks, for if you win, you will be happy. If you lose you will be wise.”
Geena Davis: “If you risk nothing, then you risk everything.”
Helen Keller: “Security is mostly a superstition. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
Napoleon Hill: “That is one of the tricks of opportunity. It has a sly habit of slipping in by the back door, and often it comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat. Perhaps this is why so many fail to recognize opportunity”.”
Napoleon Hill: “Remember, too, that all who succeed in life get off to a bad start, and pass through many heartbreaking struggles before they ‘arrive.’ The turning point in the lives of those who succeed, usually comes at the moment of some crisis, through which they are introduced to their ‘other selves’”
Sadly, it seems the majority are not interested in the challenges life brings to them. They avoid these challenges like they would avoid the plague. Often the reason for the avoidance is the fear of failure or loss. They may see opportunity, but they are afraid to risk their time and effort in order to make that opportunity a reality. They are afraid of those around them that will scoff and make fun or talk behind their backs. They are afraid of how they will look if they try and fail. They are afraid of losing what they already have for fear they will never be able to get it back.
Once again, this all boils down to someone unwilling to take the risk. Yes, it could be costly and it may even cost you all you have, but what if you don’t do it? What if you skate along taking the easy road only to find you may lose it all anyway due to poor health, poor economy, theft, or because you were sued by someone with more money and a better attorney who winds up taking all you have anyway. Just because you lose it all doesn’t mean it’s over. Nothing is over until you allow it or agree to it being over. As long as you stay at it, you have the opportunity to get back everything that was taken AND more.
It is not going to happen however, unless you take your own future into your own hands. Don’t leave your future in the hands of anyone else. Don’t allow them to set your goals and determine how well you will live. You make that decision. You should decide what you want and make a plan to go get it in spite of the opposition in front of you. Remember, in every adversity there is the seed for an equivalent or better advantage. So, don’t avoid risk, but knowing that taking that risk and being successful will bring reward. Go make it happen.
Best of LUCK as you
