THINK

“THINK” — The New Acronym by Nido R Qubein

Lee Colan, author of the book, Leadership Matters, got a good piece of advice from his sister, now a high school teacher. She shared with Colan a poster tacked up at her school. It said: “Before you speak, THINK…

T – Is it True?
H – Is it Helpful?
I – Is it Inspiring?
N – Is it Necessary?
K – Is it Kind?

We all need to avoid expressing the first thought that comes into our minds as the first thought is not always the best thought in that they are often a reaction to out of control emotions. It is like that which is said in Proverbs 17:28: “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”

That makes so much sense. Think before you speak, and you will be less likely to say something trite or offensive.

Best of LUCK as you
